HAILED AS AUSTRALIA’S
premier literary non-fiction festival, Reality Bites kicks off on July 23.
Sprawled over two lavish weekends, the literary events will include book readings, interviews, workshops and panel discussions.
Thirty-six authors, journalists and film-makers will delight audiences across seven different Sunshine Coast locations.
Honest tales of love and loss, politics, corruption, social networking, crime and the truth about Australia’s environmental stability are some of the themes that will surface over the 43 sessions.
Multi-award winning author David Marr will be the keynote speaker at the festival’s launch. With a career spanning over 30 years, David has reported for Four Corners, ABC’s Media Watch and the Sydney Morning Herald.
Other noteworthy speakers include writer and producer Tony Cavanaugh (Once Were Warriors), author Anna Haebich of Murdering Stepmothers: The Execution of Martha Rendell, and the ABC’s Michael Cathcart.
Free events will run alongside paid sessions. Head to the festival’s
blog further details on the program.
